We take alterations to a whole new level. You keep your dress for your daughter or another family member to wear when the time comes. Some gowns never go out of style and require some minor wedding dress alterations. In other cases, the new bride might want some more significant changes to make the dress her own. It’s amazing how elaborate wedding dress alternations can be; a dress can become almost unrecognizable. No matter what it looks like in the end, the sentiment remains the same and the brides (past and present) will know they are part of a special tradition. We also provide a special restoration service to whiten vintage gowns that have yellowed with time. Our brides have worn their grandmothers’ and even their great-grandmothers’ wedding gowns on their special day.
We do alterations for both men and women and when people think of wedding dress alterations, they usually think of shortening or lengthening the hemline and maybe tightening or letting out the waist or bust lines. But what if you could completely transform your dress? Turn it into a different dress or even something totally new that you can use and touch every day and be reminded of one of the most special moments in your life. You could have your dress altered. You could also have your wedding gown turned into a quilt and/or cushions, a tablecloth or some other craft or art work.
In the ever changing world of fashion, JEM Fashions is an alternative to the bridal sales industry. With more than 25 years of experience, alterations are my speciality. In the off season, I teach and make custom bags. Appointments welcome
